it's not a woman because she would have her head covered by the drape of her sari, as seen in the figures on the horse.

it is either Krsna, Rama, or Vishnu due to the blue skin. but according to this site, most of the frescos in Mandawa are of Krsna.
Reply:It is just a piece of mughal painting, not neccesarily a god.
Reply:It's probably Rama, judging by the blue skin and earrings.
Reply:It could be Vishnu (although Vishnu has two arms) It might be Shiva or Rama.
Reply:i think is a women because she wear saree.
Reply:Ok, from the little knowledge that i have of hinduism, here it goes..

Your boyfriend is right in saying it is not krishna.. Looking at the answer above as rama (and searching the pic) it seems quite possible but also after searching the pic of arjuna, there are similarities aswell..

If it were rama i assume there would be monkeys around (because of the tale to go with it which is a very well known hindu story which im sure you can search up if you're interested -- the story of rama was one of the "2 epics").

Rama and Krishna were both men but incarnations of Vishnu on earth (who i guess you can say is the jesus equivilent in hinduism). Arjuna however was a man who met krishna as the driver of his horse and carriage. According to the story, Arjuna needed to defend his city. At that point, krishna turns around and says "i am god". He was infact Vishnu incarnated (who is said to come down to earth 10 times) and helped him through.

This is probably a pic of Arjuna getting ready to go into battle to "do his duty" as krishna (who you will remember is really vishnu incarnated) told him to do.

Hope this wasnt confusing. If this confuses you, im sure you can google "Krishna and Arjuna" and you can read the story and im sure there will be pictures included (This is the other story in the "2 epics"). Bottom line, if this is infact arjuna, arjuna is human and is not a god.

Good Luck

Edit: This is not shiva.. a dead give away to shiva is 2 things.. It (im saying it because we dont know if it's male or female but it looks very feminine) is always depicted with a tridant and a snake around it's neck..

Vishnu has several arms so similarly this is not vishnu

i'd bet on Arjuna or Rama
